The introduction of county

The county located on the west of the province and neighbors ilam county in the north, Malekshāhī county in the east, Dehlorán county in the south and Iraq in the west. The county’s capital, Mehrān city, is the closer city to Iraq in ilam province. Mehrān formerly called Mansurābād until the academy of persian language and literature change its name into today name in 1930. The county is important in the province because of being in Iraqi borders: Mehrān is the nearest city of the province to Baghdad and has a border terminal with nearly one million passenger and millions of dollars commercial exchanges a year. The county divided into two districts: Markazi and Sālehābād.

    The Konjāncham Castle

    This Castle sits on the side of the Konjāncham River in Mehrān- ilam road, kilometer 20. The Castle has built by Gholām-Rezā Khān in 1908 as the chieftain Winter ruling Center. This castle has square shape plan With four towers. Konjāncham Castle has been registered in National Cultural Heritage List of Iran and is being renovating.

    This Wonderful Open-aircaVelocated on 5 kilometers from the Southeast of Sālehābād and 45 kilometers from ilam and is 1 kilometer long. Having a permanent stream of Cold Water flown alongside the cave, inside has a considerable temperature difference with the outside especially in summers. stalactites and algae, mosses and wild plants grown in the cave with the converging upper edges of it, are just some parts of the Cave's beauties. zeynagān open-air cave is one of the most important ilam's tourist attractions.
